The problem with the thinking man

The problem with the thinking man,
the type more often than not
stuck in thought,
neither doing nor not,
is that his life spent in thought.

Couldn't decide between the word "spent" and "lost" in the last line. Excuse the irony (wrangling with indecisiveness).

Remembered a quote from a university lecturer about the thinking man and fighting man, not directly related but relevant in the wider scope of things, it was by a general in some army:

"The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards."

Just popped into my mind when I saw the title "thinking man"!

Nice quote. Gets me thinking... If there was one word to describe God's Messenger (peace be upon him) it would be 'balance'; to be 'middle'; everything about him was 'moderation'. Hmm.. looks like I used three words and not one!
